How An Air Amplifier Operates?

This valve is fed with the surrounding plant air that is directed alternately to the main air drive piston in the air drive cylinder, as the spool cycles. As a result of this action, the piston cycles back and forth in the amplifier. The pressurized air is then supplied to the high pressure section. Now, this air meets with air flows that are directed to the amplifier pressure chamber with the help of inlet check valves on the suction stroke. Later, these air flows are pressed out of the chamber through the outlet check valves present on the discharge stroke.
This reciprocating movement of the air drive section that connects directly to the high pressure section produces a positive displacement of air with the help of the inlet and outlet check valves. Most manufacturers offer both single and double acting amplifiers that are ordered by the clients according to their application requirements.
